ARC Privacy & Copyright Statement

Plain-language information for authors and readers using SlushBucket Studio advance reader campaigns.

Copyright and confidentiality

Advance reader copies, cover files, text, and other manuscript materials remain the property of the author, publisher, or other rights holder. A reader receives a limited, personal review copy only. Readers must not copy, forward, sell, publish, upload, or redistribute an ARC or remove its watermark. The copyright notice and any rights-holder notices in the manuscript must remain intact.

What SlushBucket stores

To operate ARC campaigns, SlushBucket stores author and reader account details, campaign membership, delivery status, watermarked delivery records, optional private feedback, and optional public-review links. Readers may also save private titles, dates, statuses, and notes for independent ARC commitments. Independent tracker entries are visible only to the reader who created them.

How information is used

Information is used to connect readers to campaigns, send invitations or delivery messages when configured by an author, provide secure expiring downloads, prevent unauthorized delivery, and provide campaign feedback to the relevant author. Private reader feedback is shared with the relevant campaign author for editorial or launch planning. It is not published or used in public marketing unless the reader gives separate permission. Public review links are only stored when the reader or author submits them.

Security and retention

Manuscripts are kept in private storage and reader delivery links expire after 30 minutes. When an author records a book go-live date, the campaign, applications, assignments, original manuscript files, watermarked delivery copies, and related campaign records are automatically deleted 120 days after that date. A campaign with no go-live date is not automatically deleted. Authors can request earlier deletion, subject to reasonable backup and legal-retention needs. Reader account details and independent tracker entries remain until the account holder requests deletion. Authors should export anything they need before the scheduled campaign deletion.

Account holders can request access, correction, or deletion of their information through the Contact page. For Canadian users, requests are handled under applicable Canadian privacy law; users in other markets may have additional rights under local law.

Rights, takedown, and reporting

If you are a rights holder, believe a file was shared in error, or need a copy or campaign removed, use the ARC rights and takedown contact form. Include the campaign or book title and the reason for the request. Do not attach an unpublished manuscript to the request.

This statement supplements the general Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. It is practical product guidance, not legal advice. Have qualified counsel review this language for Canadian requirements and any other markets you serve before relying on it.
